Privacy policy

Tap In helps a group find a time to meet. You sign in with Google, and Tap In looks at when you're busy so it can suggest times that work for everyone. This page explains what we collect, what we do with it, and what we don't.

What we collect

• Your Google account basics: your name, email address, and profile picture, so people can see who has joined an event.
• When you're busy: the start and end times of busy blocks on your calendars, read through Google's free/busy service. We never see event titles, descriptions, locations, or who else is invited.
• Your list of calendars: calendar names, so you can choose which ones count. We save which calendars you picked.
• Your calendar's time zone, so times show correctly.
• Events you create or join: the name, length, dates and times you set, who has joined, and the time that was picked.
• Google sign-in tokens, which let Tap In re-check busy times when you or others open an event. They're stored encrypted.

How we use it

• To find and rank times when the people in an event are free, and show them on the event page.
• To show everyone in an event who has joined and who can't make a given time. Other people in the event see your name and whether you're free at a time, never why you're busy.
• When you type an event name the app doesn't recognize, that name alone is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to suggest typical hours and length. No calendar data is sent.

We don't sell your data, show ads, or use your data for anything other than running Tap In.

Google user data

Tap In's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the scheduling features described above, is not transferred to others except as needed to run the service (the hosting providers below), and is never used for advertising or to train AI models.

Where it's stored

Tap In runs on Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database). Busy times are read from Google when needed rather than kept long-term.

Your choices

• Choose which calendars count at any time from the “Calendars & quiet hours” page.
• Revoke Tap In's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• To delete your account and data, send a message from the contact page and we'll remove it.
